Burnaby Village Storytelling and Songs

I am looking forward to going to Burnaby Village Museum over the next four days to tell stories and sing Christmas songs with children and families that visit this very special place.
I feel so privileged to get to share this special time with families. I love sitting in the special chair surrounded by Christmas trees lit up for the season, and surrounded by piles of wrapped presents, the perfect setting in the Stride Studios. Families wander in and take a seat to experience the gift of storytelling. I love asking the kids what story they would like the hear.

I have a collection of special Christmas stories, one about how the robins got their red breasts, and another about the little fir tree. Anna's Angel is very magical and I mix it up with traditional favourites such as the Three Billy Goats Gruff, or Masha and the Bear. It is a blessing to be able to tell these stories in this setting, to see the expressions on the children's faces and to share the stories that have been told for generations.

I connected with a soundscape artist while performing for the Very Vancouver Christmas Concerts and I am excited about collaborating with him and creating my storytelling CD, which has been on the back burner for a while. I was waiting for the right person to come along and this is a great opportunity to get my stories out there. I am so grateful for the magic that happens in life. So keep your eyes and ears open for the release of The Stories Of Three in 2011.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas Day and look forward to meeting lots of friends and families at Burnaby Village. I am there Dec. 27th until, Dec. 30th and all the times are on my events calendar in the side bar of this blog, or on my website.
